Pathwise: Framework Induction Program

“It is invaluable because it can be used for mentoring, IPDP, licensure and assessment/evaluations.“ – 2006 Participant

Level 1 Mentor Training

Course Description

The Pathwise Framework Induction Program (FIP) is designed to provide experienced teachers with the knowledge and skills to work as trained mentors. Pathwise mentoring is a supportive, formative process based upon a developmental model of teaching. Outcomes of the course include an understanding of Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching, coaching skills, and the methods and materials for implementing the Pathwise mentoring model. The Pathwise Framework Induction Program combines three essential elements for developing and sustaining teacher quality in support of students learning:

  1. A common language for talking about and assessing teaching;
  2. Clear and concrete levels of performance for teachers to use in assessing themselves; and
  3. Structured events through which beginning teacher can develop and hone their skills.

The Pathwise FIP Program now includes the contents of the Pathwise Introduction to the Framework training as part of the five day schedule.
